Strategic Partnership with CNES

20 January 2025

CNES and TheSpaceBuilder have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen entrepreneurship within the space ecosystem and foster the emergence of tomorrow’s champions.

This agreement establishes a collaborative framework for joint actions aimed at stimulating space innovation, accelerating the development and commercialization of innovative space technologies, and supporting the creation of companies addressing societal and environmental challenges.

To this end, the identified areas of collaboration include:

  • Promoting intellectual property assets and technologies developed by CNES,
  • Creating synergies with Connect by CNES and its service offerings,
  • Supporting the operational development of Space for Climate Observatory projects,
  • Providing entrepreneurial expertise and support,
  • Bridging the gap between research and entrepreneurship in the space sector.

The partnership also aims to identify projects led by TheSpaceBuilder that may interest CNES, support CNES intrapreneurship initiatives, and explore co-venture opportunities.

This partnership serves as a new vector for driving innovation and enhancing the dynamism of the national space ecosystem.

About CNES:
The CNES (Centre national d’études spatiales) is the public institution tasked with proposing French space policy to the Government and implementing it within Europe. It designs and orbits satellites, inventing the space systems of tomorrow and fostering the emergence of new, everyday services.

Founded in 1961, CNES is behind major space projects, including launchers and satellites, and is the natural partner of the industry to advance innovation. CNES has nearly 2,400 employees, passionate men and women working on five main areas: Ariane, sciences, observation, telecommunications, and defense.

As a key player in technological innovation, economic development, and France’s industrial policy, CNES also forges scientific partnerships and engages in numerous international collaborations. Representing France, CNES is one of the main contributors to the European Space Agency (ESA).
